(CAMBRIDGE, ON) - The Mississauga Detachment of the Highway Safety Division of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a collision on Highway 401 between Hespeler Road and Franklin Boulevard in Cambridge.

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at approximately 00:30 am, officers responded to a call that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.

It is believed that the pedestrian was hit by the side mirror of the vehicle that fled the scene.

As a result of the collision, the highway was temporarily closed for police investigation but has since reopened. One individual was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are asking the driver who failed to remain at the scene to contact the Cambridge detachment of the OPP.
