BURLINGTON OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 8 IN HAMILTON

(HAMILTON, ON) - One individual has been pronounced deceased following a collision on Highway 8 in Hamilton.
On Sunday, February 22, 2026, at approximately 5.40 pm, officers from the Burlington detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were informed of a collision involving two passenger vehicles on Highway 8 near Lynden Road.
A 27-year-old male from Cambridge was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a 69-year-old male from Hamilton was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
All eastbound and westbound lanes on Highway 8 in Hamilton are closed for investigation, with assistance from OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Reconstructionist.
