HEAD-ON COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 8 RESULTS IN FATALITY

(HAMILTON, ON) - One individual pronounced deceased, and multiple others injured as a result of a head-on collision on Highway 8 near Hamilton.
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, at approximately 6:45 am, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) - Burlington Detachment, responded to reports of a collision involving two passenger vehicles on Highway 8 westbound at Safari Road.
The passenger of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene. One individual was transported to hospital by Air Ornge and five other involved individuals were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
Emergency Medical Services, local fire services, Ministry of Transportation, and OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit are assisting officers of HSD - Burlington Detachment with the ongoing investigation.
Highway 8 is expected to remain closed for several hours between Studiman Road and Sheffield Road. Monitor OPP social media for updated information.
