OPP LAY IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE AFTER COMPLAINT FROM THE PUBLIC

(SEGUIN, ON) - The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.
On February 19, 2026, at approximately 9:00 pm the West Parry Sound OPP responded to a complaint from the public regarding a possible impaired driver that had just struck a parked vehicle while leaving a local restaurant. Officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle on Oastler Park Drive in the Township of Seguin.
Elwood WATKINSON, 53 years-of-age of Wasauksing First Nation was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Careless driving
- Fail to remain
- Fail to report accident
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 2, 2026. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
