(SARNIA, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU), with assistance from the OPP Lambton Detachment, members of the OPP Digital Forensics Unit and Chatham-Kent Police Service, have arrested and charged a Sarnia resident following a child sexual exploitation investigation.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Sarnia, and several electronic devices were seized.

As a result of the investigation, Eddy John BUTLER, 35 years old of Sarnia, was arrested and charged with four counts of luring a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 172.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on December 17, 2025.
