COLLISION ON CROOKSTON ROAD LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES

(TWEED, ON) - Officers from the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On Friday March 20, 2026, at approximately 8:30 pm, police received a report from a concerned citizen of single vehicle collision into the ditch on Crookston Rd. in Tweed.
Police attended the scene and observed a pickup truck on its side in the ditch. Police observed empty beer cans near the vehicle; however, no occupants were found with the vehicle at the scene.
Police located the driver at a residence in Tweed. The driver was arrested and transported to the Central Hastings Detachment for further testing.
Raymond POTTER, age 31, of Stirling-Rawdon, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 7, 2026. Additionally, their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for 7 days.
