Driver arrested and charged
(MADOC, ON) - One person has been charged in connection with a fatal collision last spring.
On April 27, 2025, shortly before 8:30 pm, Officers with the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a vehicle being driven erratically, westbound on Highway 7. Shortly afterward, the officers discovered a collision involving the reported vehicle and a motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider, age 57, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, Aleem RAHMTULLA, age 20, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Dangerous Operation Causing Death
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 26, 2026.
The investigation was conducted with assistance from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team and Central Hastings Crime Unit.
