(IGNACE, ON) - The Ignace Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a collision on Highway 17.

On March 25th, 2026, shortly before 10:30 am, members of the Ignace OPP Detachment, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a two-vehicle collision involving two Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) on Highway 17, West of English River. One person was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old male from Winnipeg, MB has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving.

Highway 17 has since been re-opened.
