-UPDATE #1- OPP RESPONDING TO ACTIVE BARRICADED INCIDENT IN DRYDEN

(Dryden, ON) - The Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising the public that an individual involved in a barricaded person incident on Thunder Lake Road has been taken into custody.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, shortly after 8 am CDT, members of the Dryden OPP, with assistance from the North West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Canine Unit, and Crisis Negotiators, responded to a residence on Thunder Lake Road following a report of a barricaded individual.

Shortly before 12 pm CDT, one individual was taken into custody. Police were able to peacefully conclude the incident with one individual being taken to an area hospital for further assessment and support.

There are no concerns for public safety at this time.
