(Clarence-Rockland, ON) - Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police officers (OPP) with the assistance of Russell County OPP officers have made three arrests in relation to the numerous recent police impersonation frauds.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, at approximately 1:10 pm, officers responded to a report of fraud at a residence in Hawkesbury. The victim reported receiving a phone call earlier that day from an individual identifying himself as a police officer.
The suspect advised that the victim’s bank cards had been compromised and that someone would attend the residence to retrieve them for security purposes. A brief time later, a female attended the victim’s residence and collected the cards. Following this interaction, the victim discovered that her cards had been used to withdraw money at numerous locations.
OPP officers in Clarence-Rockland later received information regarding a female, matching the description of the suspect, using the credit cards at a local financial institution.
Officers located the suspect with two males in a vehicle shortly. All three were arrested and have been held for bail.
