The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), is investigating a shooting incident at Burlington Centre Mall that has left one person dead.
On February 9, 2026, at approximately 10:10 pm officers attended the parking lot of 777 Guelph Line in response to a male that had been shot. The male was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as, Omer Niaz Muhammad,24, of Burlington.
Police are searching for two suspects who fled in a white SUV.
Police have not made any arrests and Investigators believe this was a targeted incident with no known risk to public safety.
Anyone who may have security or dash cam footage of Guelph Line, Prospect Street and Fairview Street around the time of the offence is asked to contact police.
