CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL INVESTIGATION: YOUTH CHARGES LAID

(LEEDS COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals under the age of 18 have been charged with the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an after intimate images of a young person were reported to school administration.
As a result of the investigation, two female youths have been charged with the following offences:
- Imports, distributes or possesses for the purpose of distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
- Distribute intimate image without consent
The accused were both released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date.
Five youths have been charged with similar offences in the recent weeks in Leeds County.
The OPP urges parents and guardians to educate youth about the importance and consequences of taking, sending and receiving intimate images.
Members of the OPP will be attending local schools to provide education and presentations on this topic.
