OPP CHARGES MULTIPLE INDIVIDUALS, SEIZES FIREARMS AND DRUGS IN THUNDER BAY INVESTIGATION

(THUNDER BAY, ON) - Multiple individuals, including two Greater Toronto Area (GTA) residents and one Québec resident, are facing a combined 80 Criminal Code and Controlled drugs and Substances Act charges following a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay.
In early May 2026, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG), including members from the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) and the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS), in partnership with the Thunder Bay OPP Community Street Crime Unit, commenced an intelligence-led investigation into a network suspected of trafficking drugs from the GTA into Thunder Bay.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, three search warrants were executed on residences on Egan Street and Secord Street in Thunder Bay by members from:
- OPP PGNG
- TBPS Emergency Task Unit
- OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau
- OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau
- OPP Investigation and Enforcement Bureau
- NAPS
- Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
As a result of the investigation, officers seized the following with approximate quantities:
- Three loaded handguns
- Ammunition and extended magazines
- 290 g suspected cocaine
- 220 g suspected crack cocaine
- $3,900 in Canadian currency
- Six cell phones
- Two digital scales
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $40,000.
Seven individuals were arrested and charged with a combined 80 firearms and drug trafficking offences. Further details on the accused and their respective charges are available in the attached Addendum of Charged Persons.
