Burt's Bees Essential Kit

(THUNDER BAY, ON) - A Thunder Bay resident is facing Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges following a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay.

In March 2026, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG), including members from the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) and the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS), began an intelligence-led investigation into alleged drug trafficking in Thunder Bay and surrounding communities.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2026, PGNG investigators, with assistance from the TBPS Emergency Tactical Unit, executed a search warrant on May Street in Thunder Bay. As a result, officers seized the following:

  • Two handguns
  • Approximately 17 g of suspected cocaine
  • Two cell phones
  • Digital scale

As a result of the investigation, Terry-Lynn SCOTT, age 52 of Thunder Bay, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, s. 88 CC - two counts
  • Careless storage of a firearm, s. 86(1) CC - two counts
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, s. 92(1) CC - two counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm, s. 91(1) CC - two counts
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Friday, March 20, 2026.

The PGNG in the North West Region consists of members from the OPP, TBPS and NAPS, with support from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
