TWO INDIVIDUALS CHARGED FOLLOWING STREET CRIME UNIT INVESTIGATION

(SHUNIAH, ON) - Two individuals have been arrested and charged following a drug trafficking investigation in the area.
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, members of the Thunder Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) located and arrested two individuals with the assistance of the OPP North East Region CSCU and Marathon CSCU, Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team, OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit.
The search and arrest resulted in the seizure of oxycodone pills, cell phones, and a firearm.
As a result of the investigation, Isaiah HONNIGAN, a 29-year-old from Brampton, is charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled drugs and Substances Act with:
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
Jahmar HAMILTON, a 28-year-old from Brampton, is charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled drugs and Substances Act with:
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
The accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay at a later date.
