Confirmed fatal collision

(GREENSTONE, ON) - The Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate a serious collision along Highway 11.

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, at approximately 5:30 pm EST, the Greenstone OPP were dispatched to a serious collision near Kenogamisis Dam Road. The serious collision is now confirmed as a fatal collision with one individual pronounced deceased at the scene, while two individuals were transported to hospital with injuries. The investigation by the Greenstone OPP is continuing, with assistance from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.

Highway 11 remains closed from Nipigon to Hearst. Highway 631 from Hornepayne to Highway 11 is also closed.

Further updates to the highway closures will be provided as information becomes available.
