Highway Reopened, No Charges Laid

(LONGLAC, ON) - Highway 11 between Hearst and Nipigon has reopened following an investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a transport truck and a pedestrian in Longlac.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, at approximately 9:30 pm, Greenstone OPP and emergency services assisted by the North West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement, Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction teams responded to reports of a collision on Highway 11 in Long Lake First Nation, west of Longlac.

As a result of the collision, a 17-year-old was pronounced deceased.

The highway reopened shortly before 5:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

While the investigation remains ongoing, there has been no evidence obtained to date that would support charges.
