Highways 11 and 631 reopened
(GREENSTONE, ON) - The Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on scene investigating a fatal collision that closed sections of Highways 11 and 631.
On Thursday, February 12, 2026, at approximately 5:30 pm EST, officers from the Greenstone OPP were dispatched to a serious three-vehicle collision near Kenogamisis Dam Road involving two commercial motor vehicles and one pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck, a 43-year-old male from Toronto, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other individuals, including the passenger of the pickup truck, were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, while a third individual was transported to hospital with unknown injuries.
Highway 11 from Nipigon to Cochrane has reopened, as well as Highway 631 from Hornpayne to Highway 11 after being closed for an extended period while the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team conducted their investigation.
