VEHICLE STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES IN SIOUX LOOKOUT

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) - On April 8, 2026, at approximately 7:30 pm, members of the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with members of the Dryden CSCU, and the Kenora Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Sioux Lookout.
Officers developed grounds to search the vehicle, resulting in the seizure of over 48 grams of suspected methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, and an edged weapon.
As a result of the investigation, two individuals were arrested and charged.
Kris PLOMP, 51-years-old, of Dryden, has been arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Joey ROY, 51-years-old, of Dryden, has been arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Both accused were held for bail and remanded into custody at the Kenora District Jail. They are scheduled to appear before the Court at a later date.
