Fatal House Fire in Lincoln Being Investigated by NRPS and OFM

On Monday, May 11, 2026, at approximately 2:45pm, uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) responded to a report of a house fire on Nineteenth Street near Seventh Avenue in Lincoln.
Officers arrived on scene with firefighters from the Lincoln Fire Rescue and Emergency Services to find a working fire at a residence. During their fire fighting operations, firefighters located an adult male within the residence who was without vital signs. That male, who was a resident of the home, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The Office of the Fire Marshall of Ontario was called in to investigate the cause and origin of the fire, while the investigation into the cause of death remains with the NRPS.
Detectives from the NRPS 8 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have taken carriage of the investigation. Their investigation is ongoing with the assistance from the Forensic Services Unit (FSU).
