In January, 2026, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Child Abuse Unit (CAU) became aware of allegations of physical abuse against a person under the age of 16 years old. The Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) was engaged to assist due to allegations of child labour exploitation. As a result of this investigation a 30-year-old adult male from Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
- Assault
- Trafficking in person under 18 years
- Receive material benefit from trafficking person under 18 years
- Possession of proceeds obtained by crime exceeding $5000.00
To protect the identity of the victim, no further information regarding the accused or investigation will be released.
