Thorold Male Arrested, 6 Charges Laid

In January 2026, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Community Response and Engagement Unit (CORE) responded to numerous community concerns from businesses in the City of Thorold. The investigation revealed that a male suspect had stolen several items from local businesses.
Officers with the CORE unit were able to identify the male as Dwayne PERKINS, who was subsequently identified as the suspect in several offences dating back to November 2025.
As result of the investigation, 37-year-old Dwayne PERKINS of Thorold was arrested on Saturday, February 14, 2026, and was charged with the following criminal offences:
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 counts)
- Theft under $5000 (2 counts)
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
PERKINS attended a bail hearing on Sunday, February 15, 2026, and remains in custody at this time.
