In November 2025, Detectives with Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Street Crime Unit (SCU) began an investigation into a break and enter that occurred at a Vape Store on Lake Street in the City of St Catharines.

The investigation revealed two males had forced their way into the store at approximately 4:25 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The two males stole approximately $31,000 of vapor products and fled the scene.

Detectives discovered that two other similar break and enters had occurred at a store on Ontario Street in West Lincoln, and at a store on Upper James Street in Hamilton. During these incidents, the suspects stole a large quantity of vapour products, with an estimated value of $70,000.

With assistance from 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) CIB and Waterloo Regional Police Service, the investigation identified two suspect addresses, including a storage unit and a commercial store front in the City of Brampton.
