Update 4 – Public Appeal - Detectives Investigating after a Pedestrian was Struck in Niagara Falls

Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have been continuing their efforts in solving this investigation.
On Sunday, August 10, 2025, at approximately 10:00 pm uniformed officers with NRPS 2 District responded to the area of Montrose Road and Greendale Street in the City of Niagara Falls for a reported Motor Vehicle Collision.
The initial investigation determined that a collision occurred between a white 4-door Audi SUV with a large moonroof and a pedestrian. The driver of the Audi did not stop and was last seen driving southbound on Montrose Road toward Lundy’s Lane in the City of Niagara Falls.
The victim in this incident, 63-year-old Suresh LAL, had been transported to an out-of-region hospital, where they later succumbed to the injuries sustained in this collision.
The family of Suresh LAL are making an appeal to the public for their assistance in bringing closure to this incident.
