HAWKESBURY OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION

(ALFRED AND PLANTAGENET, ON) - Members of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian in the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet.
On Friday, December 26, 2025, at approximately 7:45 pm, Hawkesbury OPP and emergency responders were dispatched to reports of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian on County Road 17, between Boundary Road and Lajeunesse Road.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a 48-year-old male from Hawkesbury, was taken to hospital and pronounced deceased shortly afterward.
The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team. County Road 17 remains closed between Boundary Road and Lajeunesse Road. OPP thanks members of the public for their patience while officers conduct the on-scene investigation.
