(HAWKESBURY, ON) - Members of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a fatal fire that occurred in the community of Plantagenet.
On Friday, May 22, 2026, at approximately 2:45 pm, officers responded to a report of a residential fire. Emergency services attended the scene, where an individual was located deceased inside the residence.
Members of the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit are continuing the investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, with assistance from the Office of the Fire Marshal.
