OPP INVESTIGATES COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 407 IN MARKHAM

(MARKHAM, ON) - The Highway 407 detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a collision that happened on Highway 407 near Leslie Street in Markham.
On Saturday, February 14, 2026, at approximately 1.40 pm, officers from the Highway 407 detachment were notified of a collision involving a transport truck and a passenger vehicle on the westbound lanes of Highway 407 near Leslie Street.
Initial investigation revealed that the passenger vehicle had broken down in a live lane on Highway 407 when it got struck by a fuel tanker truck. A 37-year-old male from Toronto was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
All northbound and southbound ramps on Highway 404 leading to the westbound lanes on Highway 407 are closed for investigation, with assistance from OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Reconstructionist.
