(SOUTH PORCUPINE, ON) - On Friday, February 20, 2026, at approximately 10:10 pm, members of the South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle for travelling at a high rate of speed.

Police determined that the driver had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) that exceeded the legal limit.

As a result, Jonatan RODRIGUEZ PALMA, 29 years of age, of Scarborough, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, to answer to the charge.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
