Wanted man arrested, facing multiple additional charges

LONDON, ON (May 4, 2026) – A man wanted in relation to eleven outstanding warrants with the London Police Service (LPS), is facing additional charges after police arrested him in the west end of the city last night.

On Sunday, May 3, shortly before 10 pm, members of the LPS were made aware that a wanted man was observed at a plaza in the area of Commissioners Road West and Andover Drive. A description of the suspect male was provided to police, and he was located at the north-west corner of the intersection.

As police approached the suspect male and advised him that he was under arrest, he attempted to reach into his waistband. Officers took physical control of him and during the arrest, the suspect actively resisted police and continued to reach for the front of his waistband.

After the suspect was handcuffed, officers located a sheathed knife concealed in his waistband.

While walking the suspect to the police cruiser, he kicked one of the officers.

There were no reported injuries.

The following items were seized during a search incident to arrest:

  • Large knife in a sheath
  • 11 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
  • Three grams of suspected cocaine
  • 0.1 grams of suspected carfentanil

As a result of the investigation, Devon Albert, 26, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Assault a peace officer
  • Resist arrest
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Breach of probation

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.
