One suspect arrested, police continue to search for second
LONDON, ON (April 10, 2026) – A 41-year-old male is in custody in relation to a targeted shooting over the weekend.
At approximately 12:30 am on Saturday, April 4, 2026, officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a firearm at a motel in the 2000-block of Dundas Street.
Upon arrival, officers located evidence that a firearm had been discharged.
Police learned that two men, one armed with a firearm, attended an east-end residence earlier in the evening and forced two male victims into a vehicle belonging to one of them and demanded they drive to a nearby motel. There, the armed suspect discharged a firearm before fleeing, along with the second suspect, in the victim’s pickup truck.
The stolen vehicle was recovered abandoned a short time later in the 1900-block of Marconi Boulevard.
Investigators believe the victims were targeted, and neither was injured.
On April 8, 2026, one of the suspects was identified and arrested in Scarborough, Ontario. He was transported to London Police Headquarters.
As a result of the investigation, Dexter George, 41, of Scarborough, has been charged with the following offences:
- Armed robbery
- Discharge firearm with intent to wound/ endanger life or prevent arrest
- Pointing a firearm
- Theft of a motor vehicle with violence
- Use of firearm during commission of an indictable offence
- Kidnapping
- Uttering threats/ death or bodily harm
- Disguise with intent
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.
The investigation has been reassigned to members of the London Police Service Patrol Operations Investigative Section and remains ongoing.
The second suspect remains at large and the firearm involved has not been recovered.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of the 2000-block of Dundas Street or 1900-block of Marconi Boulevard during the early morning hours of April 4, 2026, or who may have dash-cam, residential, or business video surveillance that could assist with the investigation, to contact police.
