Investigators believe there may be additional victims
LONDON, ON (May 6, 2026) – The London Police Service (LPS) Human Trafficking Unit have laid charges in connection with a human trafficking investigation and believe there may be additional victims.
On April 30, 2026, police were contacted by a woman who reported ongoing exploitation in relation to the provision of sexual services.
The investigation determined that between 2023 and April 2026, accused encouraged the victim to engage in sexual services for money and exercised control over the victim by directing where and when she worked, setting prices for services, managing online advertisements, and communicating with clients. The suspect male directed her to provide sexual services to clients in multiple cities across Ontario
In April 2026, the victim attempted to end the relationship and requested no further contact. Despite this, the suspect male continued to attend her residence uninvited. On April 30, 2026, the suspect transported the victim to London, where a dispute took place and resulted in damage to the victim’s cellular phone.
The victim contacted police.
As a result of the investigation, Jahaire Jahbari Breedy-Benons, 33, of Scarborough, has been charged with the following offences:
- Trafficking in persons, comprehensive
- Receiving a financial or material benefit from trafficking in persons (person over 18 years)
- Procuring
- Material benefit from sexual services
- Advertising another person’s sexual services
- Criminal harassment by repeatedly following
- Mischief under $5,000
He was arrested by members of the Toronto Police Service last night and remains in custody. He appeared in London court today in relation to the charges.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are sharing his photograph as a result.
