London man charged
LONDON, ON (February 26, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section have charged a London man in relation to a sexual assault that took place in June of 2025.
At approximately 2 pm, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, a female teen ordered a ride through a ride share app in the area of Dundas Street and Adelaide Street North.
During the ride, the suspect diverted to a parking lot in the area of Deveron Crescent and Commissioners Road East where he sexually assaulted her.
The suspect then dropped the victim off at her residence. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
The victim contacted police and the investigation was assigned to the London Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section.
Through the ongoing investigation, investigators identified the suspect male driver.
On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the man was arrested after turning himself in to police at London Police Headquarters.
As a result, Qais Mohammad Nayef Zghool, 29, of London has been charged with the following offences:
· Sexual assault
· Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age · Sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age
The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on March 26, 2026, in relation to the charges.
The investigation remains ongoing. Investigators learned that Qais Mohammad Nayef Zghool continued operating a ride share service under a false name after his arrest on February 10, 2026, in direct breach of his release conditions.
On Monday, February 23, 2026, members of the London Police Service arrested Qais Mohammad Nayef Zghool again.
He has been charged with the following additional offences:
· Fail to comply with undertaking · Fraudulent concealment
The accused was released and is scheduled to reappear in London court on March 19, 2026.
