London man in custody
LONDON, ON (February 5, 2026) – A London man has been charged by members of the London Police Service (LPS) Uniformed Division and Patrol Operations Investigative Section in relation to an ongoing stolen vehicle investigation from late last month.
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, a man called police to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence overnight in the area of Woodward Avenue and Tozer Avenue.
Additionally, the man reported shortly after 11 am on the same day, a credit card left in his vehicle had been used at a business in the area of Oxford Street West and Proudfoot Lane.
The investigation was reassigned to the LPS Patrol Operations Investigative Section.
Officers obtained video surveillance and images of the vehicle and the suspect.
On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 1 am, members of the LPS Patrol Operations Investigative Section observed the stolen vehicle at a business in the area of Wharncliffe Road South and Base Line Road East.
Additional officers were called to assist.
Shortly after 1:10 am officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the parking lot of the business located at Wharncliffe Road South and Base Line Road East when the suspect male attempted to flee from police in the vehicle.
While attempting to flee police, the vehicle hit a fence and became stuck in a snowbank. The male driver and female passenger exited the vehicle and fled from police on foot.
Both the man and woman were located and arrested a short distance away.
No injuries were reported.
Officers learned the man was previously bound by a court order not to operate a motor vehicle and wanted after removing his court ordered GPS ankle monitor in August of 2025.
As a result of the investigation, Colin Terrance Carville, 45, of London, has been charged with following offences:
· Fail to comply with release order
· Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
· Fail to stop for police/pursuit
· Theft of motor vehicle
· Use of credit card
· Two (2) counts of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime within Canada under $5000 · Breach of probation
The accused remains in custody and has an upcoming court date.
