BANCROFT OPP CHARGE YOUNG PERSON IN TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS

(BANCROFT, ON) - The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a young person after two separate incidents on the same day in the Town of Bancroft.
On August 12, 2025, officers responded to a report of threats made toward an individual at a Bridge Street East address. The youth was arrested and released on an Undertaking with conditions.
Later the same day, police responded to a second incident involving the same youth at the same location. It is alleged the youth attended the address, contrary to release conditions, and threw a rock toward an individual, striking a nearby vehicle. The youth was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
A young person, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), has been charged with:
- Uttering Threats - one count
- Assault with a Weapon - one count
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking - two counts
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
