HASTINGS HIGHLANDS RESIDENT CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
(BANCROFT, ON) - The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person following a complaint of assault.
On Saturday, January 31, 2026, a member of the public attended the Bancroft OPP Detachment to report that an assault had occurred the previous day. After further investigation, one person was arrested.
As a result, John STURGES, 68, from Hastings Highlands has been charged with the following:
- Assault
- Mischief under $5,000 - two counts
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on March 3, 2026.
