DRUG CHARGES LAID AFTER ORIGINAL BREACH CHARGES

(BANCROFT, ON) - Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person and laid multiple charges after a breach of probation.
On Sunday, January 25, 2026, an individual suspected of breaching release conditions, was spotted in the Town of Bancroft. They were arrested and a search resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl.
As a result, Heidi BRETHOUR, 45, of Bancroft has been charged with the following:
- Fail to Comply with a probation order - 3 counts
- Fail to comply with a release order - 5 counts
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 27, 2026.
