DRIVER CHARGED AFTER INITIALLY FAILING TO STOP FOR POLICE

(BANCROFT, ON) - Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person after a driver initially refused to pull over for a traffic stop.
On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, shortly before 10:30 pm, officers were on patrol on Quarry Road. They attempted to stop a side by side that had committed a Highway Traffic Act offense, but it sped off. After further investigation officers were able to locate the driver of the vehicle.
As a result, Robert SIEBARTH, 36, of Faraday Township has been charged with:
- Flight from a peace officer
- Dangerous operation
- Fail to comply with a release order
The accused was held for bail, was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 21, 2025.
