COLLINGWOOD OPP CHARGE THREE DRIVERS WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING FOLLOWING SEPARATE TRAFFIC STOPS

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) - Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged three motorists with impaired operation following separate traffic stops.

On Friday, May 15, 2026, at approximately 3:00 am, officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in the area of Highway 26 and Beachwood Road, which led to an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Dylan MACHADO, 21-year-old, from Collingwood, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, at approximately 2:00 am, officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in the area of Hurontario Street and First Street, which led to an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of that investigation, Vincenzo ANDREANA, a 49-year-old from Milton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, at approximately 11:30 pm, officers received a traffic complaint in the area of Highway 26 and Robert Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel BENJAMIN, 43-year-old, from Rogers Minnesota, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.
