TWO TRAFFIC STOPS TWO DRIVERS CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) - Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted two separate traffic stops, resulting in two impaired driving investigations.
On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at approximately 1:30 am, officers with the Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP conducted a speed‑related traffic stop in the area of Highway 26 and Beachwood Road, which led to an impaired driving investigation.
As a result of that investigation, Matthew HEWSON, a 40‑year‑old from Collingwood, was charged with:
- Novice driver - B.A.C above zero
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at approximately 1:00 am, officers with the Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP conducted a speed‑related traffic stop in the area of Highway 26 and Beachwood Road, which led to an impaired driving investigation.
As a result of that investigation, Rachelle GREENE, a 30‑year‑old from Collingwood, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.
