DRIVER OF AN ELECTRIC SCOOTER ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) - Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were on general patrol in the area of Ste. Marie St. and George St, when Officers observed an electric scooter driving in the middle of the roadway. Officers initiated a traffic stop which led to an impaired driving investigation.
As a result of the traffic stop, Gino VALENTINO, 37, of Collingwood, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood. Their driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle has been impounded for seven days as a result of the investigation.
