On May 29, 2026, Kingston Police executed a planned search warrant at a residence in the area of Conacher Drive as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity.

The investigation, led by the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) with support from Special Services, was initiated following information identifying a residence as a location being used to traffic fentanyl, cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine. Investigators determined that drugs were being stored and sold from the unit and believed it to be involved in a trafficking operation.

Given the potential risks associated with the environment and individuals involved, the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) was deployed to assist in executing the warrant safely and effectively.

During the operation, ERU officers, followed by DEU members, made entry into the residence after breaching the door. Additional officers, including the K9 unit and DEU members, secured the perimeter.

During the entry, three individuals attempted to flee to a balcony, where they threw a loaded handgun and a quantity of cash off the balcony. ERU officers quickly apprehended the three individuals and took them into custody without further incident.

As a result of the search warrant execution, Kingston Police seized:

  • Over 3 ounces of fentanyl
  • $3,785 in Canadian currency
  • One loaded handgun

The individuals involved are believed to have connections to the Greater Toronto Area.
