Kingston Police Locate and Arrest an Individual in Overnight Theft Investigation

On May 24, 2026, at approximately 1:30 am, members of the Kingston Police Patrol Team responded to the area of Lansdowne Street and Adelaide Street following report of an individual who had broken into a vehicle and stolen several items, including a credit card. A witness in the area was able to capture video footage of the individual, which assisted officers in obtaining a description of the accused.

Officers subsequently determined that the stolen credit card was being used at 24-hour businesses throughout the city. As a result, officers attended several 24-hour businesses in an effort to locate the individual.

At approximately 3:30 am, officers located the individual at a business in the area of Ontario Street and Clarence Street. The individual was arrested without incident and transported to Kingston Police Headquarters.

The 25-year-old of Kingston was charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000
  • Theft of a credit card
  • Possession/use of a credit card obtained by crime
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of break-in instruments
