The Kingston Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle and individual involved in a suspicious activity in the area of St. Martha Street and Rose Abbey Drive.
On January 15, 2025, a young boy was approached by an unknown male driving a white Chrysler Town and Country minivan while walking home from school. The male followed the child in his vehicle while attempting to verbally engage with the child, asking specific questions which included the child’s name, age, address, why he was alone, and if he was going to be home alone.
The child did not interact with the male, and the male departed the area rapidly when the child was greeted by an older sibling.
No license plate for the motor vehicle was obtained, however distinguishing features include black trim along the sides, dark tinted windows, chrome wheel coverings, and rust around the left rear wheel well. A photo of the vehicle was captured by a security camera in the area.
The driver of the van is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 40-50 years of age, with white/greying hair.
Police are asking residents and businesses in the area to review security camera footage between 1 pm and 3 pm on January 15, 2025. Additionally, police are asking any motorists who may have been in the area at the time to review dash camera footage for the suspect vehicle.
