DRIVER ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED OPERATION IN GORDON TOWNSHIP

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) - One person is facing impaired-related charges after the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop.
On Sunday, May 25, 2025, at approximately 2:30 am, the Manitoulin OPP were conducting general patrol near the intersection of Highway 542 and Highway 540B in the Gordon Township. Police observed a vehicle that was travelling on Highway 542 turn onto Highway 540B, and a traffic stop was initiated. Police conducted Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) on the driver, and as a result the driver was arrested for impaired operation.
Alexandria LEWIS, 23-years-old from Gore Bay, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on June 24, 2025.
