STUNT DRIVING CHARGE LAID FOLLOWING TRAFFIC-RELATED INCIDENT

(ESPANOLA, ON) - A driver has been charged with stunt driving following an incident on Centre Street in Espanola.
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at approximately 12:30 pm, the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident involving two drivers near Centre Street and James Street in Espanola. The caller reported that another driver began brake checking their vehicle before stopping in the middle of the roadway, exiting their vehicle, and yelling at the caller. A child was also present in the caller’s vehicle at the time. Officers located the involved vehicle in the area and conducted a traffic stop.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old from Espanola was charged with drive motor vehicle - perform stunt.
The driver was issued a 30 day licence suspension, and their vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The driver was issued a Provincial Summons, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
