MOTORIST CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

(QUINTE WEST, ON) - The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at approximately 1:30 am, a traffic complaint on Stockdale Road, Quinte West, led Quinte West OPP to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing. As a result of the investigation, charges were laid under the Criminal Code (CC) and the Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA).
Brandon BURT, age 24, from Cramahe, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 2, 2026. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
