ONE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT IN IPV CALL

(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON) - The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual for assault after investigating an intimate partner violence (IPV) call.
On Tuesday February 24, 2026, prior to 8:00pm, the Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding an assault that had taken place at a residence in Peterborough County. The caller advised that there had been an argument that had resulted in the caller being assaulted by their spouse.
Officers attended the scene and spoke with both parties. After gathering information, it was determined that the accused had committed an assault at which point they were arrested.
A 71-year-old male from Peterborough County was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
The accused was released with a future court date to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
