Cause of Death Identified
(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) - The cause of death has been confirmed in an ongoing investigation in the Greater Sudbury area.
On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) received a call for service regarding an unresponsive individual at a residence in Lively. The individual, 19-year-old Roch (Rocco) Renaud of the City of Greater Sudbury, was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assumed responsibility for the investigation on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the request of GSPS.
A postmortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS), and the cause of death has been determined to be Acute Carbon Monoxide Intoxication (carbon monoxide poisoning).
