Arson Now Part of Homicide Investigation, Public Assistance Requested
(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the LaSalle Police Service (LPS) have now taken carriage of a Windsor Police Service (WPS) arson investigation as part of an ongoing homicide investigation. Investigators are seeking public assistance and video footage from locations in the City of Windsor, the Town of LaSalle and the Town of Tecumseh.
On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at approximately 9:30 pm, LPS members responded to reports of an individual in medical distress at a residence on Todd Lane in the Town of LaSalle. Upon arrival, police located an individual with serious injuries consistent with a stabbing. The victim, 45-year-old Nancy GREWAL of Windsor, was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Investigators are asking residents and local business owners to review and submit any relevant dashcam, doorbell or surveillance video footage not previously shared with police from the following locations and timeframes:
- City of Windsor: St. Clair Avenue between Tecumseh Road West and Algonquin Street on Monday, March 2, 2026, between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm
- Town of LaSalle: Todd Lane between Highway 401 and Elmdale Avenue on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, between 7:00 am and 9:00 am
- Town of Tecumseh: 8th Concession Road, Tecumseh between Baseline Road and Highway 401 on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm
