Members of the Break Enter and Robbery (B.E.A.R.) Unit have arrested a known prolific offender following an investigation into several property‑related incidents across Greater Sudbury.

As a result of proactive investigative efforts, officers identified an individual believed to be responsible for multiple property-related crimes including theft of motor vehicle, break and enter and theft of catalytic converters.

On April 8, 2026, members of the B.E.A.R. Unit located and arrested 44-year-old, Robbie Sewell for the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Break Enter and Commit Indictable offence x5
  • Mischief Over $5,000 x6
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Theft Over $5000
  • Theft Under $5000 x6
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • Disguise with Intent

Robbie Sewell appeared in Bail Court on April 9, 2026, to answer to the charges and has since been remanded into custody.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be pending as it is believed that this individual is responsible for additional property-related crimes across our community.

This arrest underscores the B.E.A.R. Unit’s ongoing efforts to identify, disrupt, and hold repeat offenders accountable for conduct that significantly impacts community safety and quality of life.
